Pete Brown  -  Bass Guitars

By many standards Pete was a bit of a late bloomer when it came to picking up the bass, it wasn’t until the grand old age of 19 that Pete acquired his first bass guitar – a Vox Standard in Black. After a few months of self teaching, one of Pete’s friends, having heard of his bass playing, asked Pete whether he would dep for his band’s regular bass player, who was having a ‘holiday’ at Her Majesty’s Pleasure, the gig came and went and Pete remained with that band, Situations Vacant, for the next 4 years. Once bitten by the gig bug Pete has gigged ever since.

Over the years Pete has added to his arsenal of "earth moving / trouser flapping" equipment, and currently owns 17 different basses, a double bass, 5 different amps, 2 different speaker cabinets and an array of effects pedals to cover most options. Known by his musician friends as the "Basscyclopedia", Pete has the uncanny ability to play pretty much anything asked of him (anything!).

Pete joined SIREN in April 2024, and very welcome he is too ... We were over the moon when Pete agreed to be our Bass player. Knowing his gigging history and ability to pick up numbers at the drop of a hat, including singing like a canary with backing vocals makes him an invaluable member .. Plus the fact he's such a nice guy and is always willing to add something new .. Top Man !!!
